The Summer Palace, Beijing

This Palace is always with a history

There are two “Summer Palaces” in Beijing. One is called “The Old Summer Palace”, the one destroyed by the British and French army in 1860; the other one is “The Summer Palace”.

I’ve been to The Old Summer Palace, and I think it is not an appropriate place for travelling. It always reminds me of the history that it was destroyed, only to feel sorry about the history. It was said The Old Summer Palace is the top garden in the world, but it doesn’t exist any more. The Summer Palace is Beijing’s only garden that survived from wars and turbulence in this country. I tried to view it beauty without memorising the painful history.

The place I loved the most is the 17-arch bridge. The classical viewscape of this bridge is that when sunshine goes through the 17 arches, each arch looked very bright. I was lucky enough to take a picture of this viewscape.

I love this garden. It symbolises my luck.
